Adorama Camera (New York) has a online store at Google Express. Adorama doesn't collect sales tax for items shipped to a location other than New York state, either you order directly from Adorama.com or Amazon.com. However we do see sales tax collected by Google Express for items purchased from Adorama store at Google Express. Who is collecting sales tax, Google Express or Adorama?

Use this Code QUA9YS5GM to save $10 off of $10 for New Account/Customer. works for ANY store and any item. Right now, most of the stores are offering Free shipping over $15. Get all the supplies you need.

Didnt know that the 25% coupon can be "used up." I just thought it's over when it's the expiration date that it listed.

I went to get a table saw, the 25% coupon had been used up. Does not work no more

I just had my order cancelled by google. I called them and they said they were out of stock even though they were very much in stock when I placed my order. They gave me a $15 off coupon for the inconvenience. Good luck to everyone else.

I got $25 off. It is a good deal for those states charge tax anyway.

By anonymous on 07/08/2018, 10:26 PM EDT
Just chatted with customer service, no adjustment for tax. With 10% tax of the full retail price not a good deal anymore

By anonymous on 07/08/2018, 09:57 PM EDT
Yeah, Uncle Sam or his cousin. Its the govt who needs the taxes.

In this case, google adjusts the taxes when it ships. I have like more than 10 orders till date this year and i see the price adjusted every time order is shipped ( credit of tax adjustment to my state ).

lets make use of the discount begin offered and less about the logistics around how tax is polished here //@Anonymous: It's not uncle sam who collects tax; it's the individual state. Each state has its own rate, and hence the confusion. Google is inviting big trouble. Say they collect 10% and ship to a 6% state. What do they do with that 10%? Send to the ship-from state and zero for ship-to state? Send 6% to ship-to state and pocket the 4% difference? In either case, class-action seems coming...

Skip the MF discount and pay the correct tax amount. //@anonymous: I would say "please shut the F up". It's not about discount, it's about principle regarding tax. //@Anonymous: Well everybody just chill the F out. It’s a discount!!! Jeez.

By anonymous on 07/08/2018, 07:10 PM EDT
How the tax gets distributed, its totally left to the retailer / reseller. Its their decision to offer you discount on the product and the decision on who should bear the tax for that discount offered can be either way customer as in you/me or could be the seller ( google express/costco ). Uncle sam collects tax for full $100 and does not care about temp discount offered //@Anonymous: Again speaking from experience, yet another Google fuzzy math: they took discount after sales tax while discount based on BEFORE tax amount. Say something cost $100 with sales tax of 9%, Google math: $100*(1+9%)-$100*25=$84. While the real math should be $100*(1-25%)*(1+9%)=$81.75. Not much difference, but the principle is wrong!

By anonymous on 07/08/2018, 06:21 PM EDT
agree, from my own experience as well, GE did not update the tax amount and even sometimes the charge 10% of tax for no reasons. Never though we could argue with them through customer service. //@Anonymous: Again speaking from experience, yet another Google fuzzy math: they took discount after sales tax while discount based on BEFORE tax amount. Jeez, you have the right to ignore the coupon and paid the correct tax! Amen.

Thumbs down to your post! Everyone just shared their experience with Google Express. It is upsetting to see a big company such Google make errors like the ones discussed. Until seeing these posts I would've thought my shopping experience with them was an isolated exception. It turns out it's not. //@Anonymous: Well everybody just chill the F out. It’s a discount!!! Speaking from experience, they will not adjust the tax because they believe there is no issue. Well, if you complain, for the first time you might get a coupon "for your inconvenience". After that, radio silence. //@Anonymous: True. //@Anonymous: The tax amount will be updated after order shipped. I ordered multiple times, all tax amount OK. //@Anonymous: Not only that, they charge highest tax they can find and sometimes more than 10%.

By anonymous on 07/08/2018, 02:18 PM EDT
Great deal on sigma lenses which usually doesn't offer any discounts

lol, Is it so that someone is a apple fanboy, pissed with Google and just ranting about it by being racist. Thats what jobless head weight ppl do. //@Anonymous: with 25% off the price is about the same or a little lower than in-store price. good deal in that you do not need to run into Sunnyvale store and fight the south Asians.

By anonymous on 07/08/2018, 12:14 PM EDT
It is only for Costco. I did ask Google express why is it so. They confirmed, they match that of costco.com price and not that of the store price. most of the groceries cost in store is cheaper than online. Blame Costco and not Express //@Anonymous: Price you pay for not having to wage war parking, pushing carts on busy aisles, and waiting in long checkout lines. Same day shipping too. Time is $. //@anonymous: Agreed. Many products were still more expensive even after 25% off //@Anonymous: I want to criticize #express yesterday I checked prices of item in Costco vs on express, every item was expensive on express. No wonder, free shipping or 25% off

By anonymous on 07/08/2018, 12:12 PM EDT

the way they collect tax is not baseless, it is purely wrong. It is based on where the product shipped from, not shipped to. This is even illegal. Mighty Google should stay with Search.
