Thanks //@anonymous: It will last a long time if you keep the steam wand clean. I let mine get gunked up and it eventually blew out the pump. Fixing it was going to cost like $300, so I just bought another one and it's been doing great.

I updated to the Barista Pro, but I miss the more straightforward utility of the express. The pressure gauge is a nice feature to help dial in shots.
