One island created per console. You can have multiple user profile, but all will share a single island. Only one active player can play per console. If you want to play multiplayers at once, each player has to have own console+game, then visit the designated island through local network access or Nintendo paid online access. I am too poor for this. I waited years for the iPad mini to get back to $200 at target and finally gave up. I got the stupid Lenovo 8 inch. 3gb ram and 1080 screen, and takes micro SD. It's very slow but I paid like $115 with tax. Makes a good reader.

Go look it up. Better resolution (in ppi), better face camera, higher memory capacities, and lighter weight all in mini. You are crazy to think it's not a deal just because it's not the Extreme version. That retails for $700, of course it won't drop down to $400 right away. The base model however is great for 2D games and classics like JRPG. And I don't even need to use the highest power setting for games like Yakuza 0 to get them up to around 60fps.
