We did download offline maps and used iphone everywhere around Arizona and Utah without any issues. I spent $300 on the previous version, Oculus Go. Used it after I bought it. It was very slow and got very hot if you use it for 5 mins. And 64G space gone after a few downloads.
Next time I try to use it, told me I mus switch to FB account to use it. The third time I tried to use it, it was dead (won't bootup anymore). Hardware issue. Out of warranty.

I regret getting the M2 version. I should have bought the M1 Pro version (same amount of ram and disk). It only costs $100 more and the performance is much better.

If 256G was not a single module like M1 Air, this is a great choice, but since it is not, go either m1 air or m1 pro, depending on your needs. I got both, one for my daughter and one for me, and yes, I tried M2 256G and M2 512G, but the former is slow, the latter is too expensive compared to its capability.
